After 58 years of manufacturing official currency and commemorative coins Pobjoy Mint is set to close at the end of 2023, following the retirement of Managing Director Taya Pobjoy.

The Mint closure will take place at the end of 2023 so customers will have a chance to complete their collections for the full year with some releases being brought forward to allow plenty of time for collectors to buy them.

Taya Pobjoy said:

'I've made the big decision to retire this year. My prime objective is to give the customers our service until the end and to make sure that they get a complete year because we all know that coin collecting is an annual thing with a date change. So it's been very much on my mind when making this decision to make sure I give a good service to the very end to my customers.'

Pobjoy Mint's website will remain open until the end of November 2023 and therefore all outstanding orders will be fulfilled and dispatched before that date.

A statement from the Mint explained:

'We encourage all customers to use all remaining reward points available on their accounts before this deadline otherwise you'll be at risk of losing them. Our Customer Service channels will also be open until such date for any queries you might have.'
