Planning for the 2023 Token Congress is well under way, with younger collectors being given the chance to attend for a discounted price.

The event, to be held at The Hilton Hotel, Northampton, from 6 to 8 October, will follow the usual format:

  • Friday afternoon arrival, then an evening auction
  • Saturday has a range of lectures with a bourse in the evening
  • Sunday morning a few talks to finish off the weekend

There are usually a few new books launched during the weekend.

This year, thanks to a generous grant from the British Numismatic Society, the organisers of Token Congress are able to offer a discounted rate to young attendees. The fully inclusive fee for the weekend is £215.

The first five attendees who are under the age of 35 will be given a £100 refund on arrival. (Please indicate that you will be eligible when sending in the registration form.)

To further assist newcomers to token collecting and paranumismatics, the auction this year will include a library of token-related books ranging from introductory to standard catalogues to specialist listings and classic works. Over 200 books and booklets have been catalogued into 121 lots, to be sold without reserve, and bidding will start at £1.
