The second Newman Numismatic Portal symposium is set to take place over three days, from 19 March, with a wide range of numismatic subjects covered.

The NNP Symposium is a free, Zoom-based online event covering topics such as US federal coinage, tokens, paper money, and ancient and world numismatics.

A spokesperson for the NNP said:

'As large-scale numismatic conventions continue to be cancelled, this event will provide a virtual "fix" of numismatic content and allow collectors to view programs on any number of topics, or to present on their own favourite subjects.'

Scheduled talks for the symposium include:

  • From the War of 1812 to the Civil War: A Chronology of a Numismatic Marriage, Garrett Ziss
  • A Day at Heritage Auctions, Sarah Miller
  • Chinese counterfeits on the US numismatic market, Beth Deisher
