The Royal Canadian Mint has launched its Butterflies of Canada coin series with a coin depicting the Canadian Tiger Swallowtail.

The 1oz limited-edition coin is the first in a series of coins celebrating Canada's butterflies and shows one of the country's most recognisable species of butterfly - the Canadian Tiger Swallowtail. Designer Celia Godkin has created a coloured image of the butterfly, with its distinctive black and yellow stripe pattern. The butterfly is resting on an engraved dandelion and the reverse of the coin is engraved with the word 'CANADA', the date '2013' and the face value of '20 DOLLARS'.

To order the coin, visit the Royal Canadian Mint website.
