Eleven Doctor Who coins issued by New Zealand Mint

New Zealand Mint has released details of its eleven Doctor Who collector coins - one for each actor who's played Doctor Who over the years.

Each of the 1/2oz silver coins (which have been produced in collaboration with BBC Worldwide Australia & New Zealand) features a high colour reproduction of one of the doctors, with a likeness of his nemesis engraved behind him in three-dimensional relief.

3,000 of each of the eleven Doctor coin designs will be issued as part of the Doctor Who 1/2 oz Silver Collectible Coin Set and the remaining 1,000 of each coin design will be offered for individual sale.

• Third Doctor 1970- 1974 JON PERTWEE
• Fourth Doctor 1974 - 1981 TOM BAKER
• Fifth Doctor 1981 - 1984 PETER DAVISON
• Sixth Doctor 1984 - 1986 COLIN BAKER
• Seventh Doctor 1987 - 1996 SYLVESTOR MCCOY
• Eighth Doctor 1996 - PAUL MCGANN
• Ninth Doctor 2005 - CHRISTOPHER ECCLESTON
• Tenth Doctor 2005 -2010 DAVID TENNANT
• Eleventh Doctor 2005 -2010 MATT SMITH
