The Royal Canadian Mint's latest gold and silver coins celebrate four generations of Britain's royal family.

Canadian artist Cathy Sabourin has created her own interpretation of a christening photograph of Prince George from October 2013, which featured four generations of the British royal family, the first time this has happened since the late nineteenth century. The photo shows a seated Queen Elizabeth II, with next in line to the throne Prince Charles standing behind her. Beside Prince Charles is his son William, third in line to the throne, holding Prince George.

The coin is available in 99.99% pure silver, with a 99.99% pure gold version also available.

The royal family have strong links with Canada, which, for the queen, began when she was declared Head of the Commonwealth on 2 June 1952. More recently, the links were strengthened when Canada was chosen for the first overseas visit of the Duchess of Cambridge, who was accompanied by her husband Prince William, Duke of Cambridge.
