We're excited to reveal details of two talks from the experts at Numimatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC), the official partners of the Festival of Coins.

Discover more about coins and banknotes with exclusive online talks from two NGC experts. 

We'll be talking to David W. Lange, Research Director, about the similarities between US and UK coinage.

Meanwhile, banknote expert Colin Blyth will discuss overprints on paper money.

About the speakers

David W. Lange, Research Director

A coin enthusiast for more than 50 years, David W. Lange is the author of 10 books on United States numismatics. His writing has received numerous accolades from both the American Numismatic Association and the Numismatic Literary Guild, including the latter's prestigious Clemy Award.

His latest book is a history of Whitman Publishing Company’s Coin Supply Division and a catalog of its lines of folders and albums.

In 2009, Lange received the ANA’s Lifetime Achievement Award and in 2017 he was named its Numismatist of the Year. Lange’s specialized areas of study have included Seated Liberty silver, Philippine coinage under US administration and British coinage from 1816-1970. His career highlights include launching NGC’s Photo Proof and VarietyPlus Services.

Colin Blyth, World Paper Money Grader

Colin Blyth, a paper money collector for more than 20 years before joining PMG in 2018, specializes in South and Central American notes.

He is a Life Member of the American Numismatic Association; a Life Member of the International Bank Note Society; and a member of the Society of Paper Money Collectors; Fundacion Numimaticos Colombianos; and the Cuban Numismatic Association of America.

Colin has contributed to PMG articles in The Bank Note Reporter and the IBNS Journal and has lectured on paper money collecting internationally, including in South America. He has a Master's of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science Honors degrees from Queen's University in Canada.
