New Zealand Mint has issued three new coins to mark the 2014 Lunar Year of the Horse.
The horse is the seventh animal in the twelve-year zodiac cycle and those born during the Year of the Horse are said to be free spirited and the life and soul of the party. New Zealand Mint's coins feature a horse captured in mid stride, with the 'wind billowing through its mane and tail'. The horse is surrounded by a traditional Chinese border design, the engraved words 'Year of the Horse 2014' and the Chinese character for 'horse'.
The coins are available in 1oz gold plated, 1oz silver and 1/2 oz silver.
