The Singapore Mint is to issue a £5 coin to celebrate the birth of HRH Prince George of Cambridge, son of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. The coin, which was produced by The Royal Mint and approved by Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, marks the christening of Prince George at St James's Palace on 23 October, 2013.
The base of the coin features the lily font traditionally used in royal christenings, when babies are baptised with water from the River Jordan. The coin is adorned with cherubs playing harps and the motto reads 'Dieu et mon droit' or 'God and my right', the motto of Prince George's great-grandmother, Her Majesty the Queen.
