The People's Republic of China has launched a new coin series on China's historic bronze culture. ...

The first coins in a series of ancient bronze culture has been issued by the People's Republic of China on 31 August 2012. The coins comprise a 2000 yuan gold coin featuring a bronze casting from the Shang dynasty, a 100 yuan gold featuring a bronze drinking vessel from the Xia dynasty, a 300 yuan silver coin with a wine vessel from the Shang dynasty, a 50 yuan silver with an item of bronze cookware, and a 10 yuan silver with a drinking vessel held at the Beijing Palace Museum.

The reverse of each coin features Chinese wording which translates as 'People's Republic of China 2012'.
