The Israel Coins & Medals Corps has issued details of the eighteenth issue in its Biblical Art coin series. The new 1oz.999 Pure Silver Proof coin is inspired by the Bible verse:

'David took a harp and played with his hand, so Saul was refreshed…
and the evil spirit departed from him.'

The coin shows David playing a harp for Saul to help ease his depression after his kingship had been taken away from him after he'd refused to listen to his people. The image on the coin foreshadows Saul's imminent disappearance as monarch, as he is shown as an outline figure, with his crown detached from his head, whilst David appears in the foreground fully visible; the shepherd boy who would be anointed king.

The obverse of the coin has the Israel State Emblem, 'Israel' in English, Hebrew and Arabic, the Mint Year and Mint Mark, and a decoration symbolizing David's harp.

To purchase the coin, visit the Israel Coin and Medals Corp website.
