Each year, the Isle of Man issues a Christmas-themed 50p coin and the theme for 2012 is the nativity angel. The coin, produced by Pobjoy Mint, is available in Cupro Nickel Diamond Finish and Proof Sterling Silver with both versions of the coin presented in a Christmas card which this year shows snowflakes falling around the coin. A coloured version of the coin is also available.
The precious metal coins are struck four times to produce a stunning mirror-finish background with the house sculpted in relief. Approved by Buckingham Palace, the obverse of the coin bears a fine effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Lord of Man by Ian Rank-Broadley FRBS.
The 2012 Isle of Man Christmas coin is available from Pobjoy Mint.
