Royal Canadian Mint celebrates the 2014 FIFA World Cup with a Fine Silver coin.
With the Fifa World Cup underway in Brazil, Royal Canadian Mint has issued details of its own numismatic souvenir - a 1/2 oz Fine Silver coin. The $10 coin is inscribed in both English and French with the words: '2014 FIFA World Cup' and 'Coupe du Monde de la Fifa 2014'.
The design of the coin (which was approved by FIFA) was created by Canadian artist Greg Banning and features a collage of football images, with a portrait of a younger player kicking a football dominating the design. The image of the boy stands above a globe and the word 'Canada'.
