New Zealand Mint has announced it will be producing Harry Potter gold and silver collectible coins under license from Warner Brothers.
The collection features four silver coin notes representing each of the Hogwarts Houses:
- Gryffindor
- Slytherin
- Ravenclaw
- Hufflepuff
The 5gm pure silver coin notes feature coloured and engraved images synonymous with each House including its mascot the lion, serpent, badger or eagle.
As a legal tender note, it features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse and is packaged inside a themed box with details of the coin note’s authenticity on the base. The unique serial number is printed on the note which is presented in an acrylic capsule that displays both sides.
