Germany has continued its ‘Wonderful World of Insects’ coin series by issuing a €5 coin dedicated to the seven-point ladybug.
This new series, launched last year, sees digital printing being used for the first time in embossing these colour print coins, with the colour applied to the relief. A total of nine coins (one in 2022, four in 2023 and four in 2024) will be issued, illustrating this essential part of the fauna in Germany, Europe and the world.

The remaining three coins to be released this year will feature the swallowtail butterfly, the rust-red mason bee and the branded demoiselle.

From the Berlin Mint, a total of 100,000 coins will be produced.
