Remembrance Day 2019 - new Royal Mint £5 coin

The Royal Mint has released a £5 coin to commemorate Remembrance Day 2019, when the nation pays tribute to the fallen.

The Silver Proof coin has been produced in a limited edition of 3,240 and is priced at £90. It has a reverse design of a poppy with red petals and green leaves.

The wording features a line from the Ode of Remembrance: We will remember them. 1919-2019.

The dates on the coin commemorate the centenary of the first ever Remembrance Day, held on 11 November 1919 on the first anniversary of the end of World War I. Remembrance Day has been commemorated annually ever since.

The coin is struck in 925 sterling silver and The Royal Mint state that donation from each sale will be made to the Imperial War Museums.
