The new coin from Sierra Leone celebrates His Majesty's Accession with a double portrait of him and Queen Elizabeth ll
Before his accession following the death of his mother ion 8 September, King Charles was the longest-serving British heir apparent. At the age of 73, he was the oldest person to accede to the Crown.
The new coin from Pobjoy Mint features a portrait of Her Late Majesty, taken from one of the last coins of her reign, on the left, with the first portrait of the new King Charles lll on the right. The obverse bears the coat of arms of Sierra Leone.
The new coin, released on 21 November, is available in Cupro Nickel and Fine Proof Silver.
