Belgium's latest commemorative coin marks '75 years of peace and freedom in Europe' and is one of many coins being issued to mark the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War.

The coin, which is minted in BU-quality and is issued in two language versions, will be launched at a special Ceremonial Strike event on 5 May, set to be streamed live at: www.royaldutchmint.com/livestream

The obverse of the coins features a design showing the large number 75. The number is partly formed on the right side by the map of liberated Europe and at the bottom by peace doves and olive branches. On the far left the privy mark 40-45 is shown, which also features on the €5 coin 75 year D-Day from 2019.

The €2.5 coin is presented in a coin car, which shows Europe illuminated by fireworks to celebrate 75 years of peace and freedom in Europe and, on the back,  Brussels shortly after the liberation on 4 September 1944.
