A new silver coin from Royal Canadian Mint features the forget-met-not, the flower worn in Newfoundland and Labrador to honour the war dead.
The 1oz silver coin honours the wartime sacrifices made by the people of this Canadian province in the two World Wars, including the thousands who fought under the banner of the Dominion of Newfoundland in battles at places like Beaumont-Hamel in France in the First World War.
The design, by Derek C Wicks, mixes different engraving techniques, including a laser pattern of forget-me-nots on the obverse. The reverse carries an image of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment's caribou emblem surrounded by flowers of remembrance.
