Tom and Jerry coin
Perth Mint has released details of a new coin minted to mark the 80th anniversary of the animated duo Tom and Jerry.

The colourful coin is an officially licensed Tom & Jerry product and features a design that evokes the golden age of animation, when the cat and mouse first appeared on cinema screens, in 1940, created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera. Over the decades, a total of 161 Tom & Jerry cartoons were made by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and Tom & Jerry won fans all over the world.

Produced to a limited mintage of 2,500, the 1oz silver proof coin was designed by Ing Ing Jong and is legal tender in Tuvalu.
