For the first time the flagship coin has been produced with a black pearl finish
The coin, issued by Pobjoy Mint on behalf of the British Virgin Isles, features Pegasus, the mythological Greek horse.
The design on the new 1oz Proof Fine Silver coin shows Pegasus with widespead wings, highlighted in slier in the centre, with a Greek key pattern surround. The lustrous black pearl finish is a special technique adopted by Pobjoy Mint.
British Virgin Isles have featured horses on many of their coins over the years, which made Pegasus the ideal choice for their flagship coin. The coin, which has been approved by Buckingham Palace, and carries an effigy of Queen Elizabeth ll that is exclusive to Pobjoy Mint.
The 1oz Silver Pegasus is available in a presentation box with a numbered certificate.
