2024 Sovereign collection launched

Described as the ‘chief coin of the world’ because of its accuracy and quality, The Sovereign is recognised and one of The Royal Mint’s flagship coins, popular with investors and collectors.

The Sovereign 2024 bullion coin range includes:

• Sovereign
• Half-Sovereign
• Quarter-Sovereign

…all struck in 22 carat gold, and to The Royal Mint’s bullion standard.

The Sovereign is the most tightly specified coin in the world, representing the pinnacle in minting standards. Its purity is guaranteed to five decimal places and the weight and purity of each Sovereign is assured by Royal Proclamation.
 
The reverse of the coin returns to Benedetto Pistrucci’s iconic St George and the dragon design, which first appeared on The Sovereign in the nineteenth century and has featured on Sovereigns struck for every British monarch since the reign of Queen Victoria.

The Sovereign gold bullion is exempt from Capital Gains Tax for UK residents due to its status as legal British currency.
